Parks & Recreation

The Parks & Recreation Division manages and programs recreational green space to promote a sense of community, encourage interaction with the outdoors, and promote a healthy and active way of life. Amenities include trails along two rivers, three swim facilities, over two dozen small parks and playgrounds, baseball and soccer fields, a disc golf course, a dog park, two outdoor concert venues, and the 700-acre-plus Devou Park.

During summer months, Covington operates two Olympic-sized pools and a zero-depth water park/splash pad. Admission is free to Covington residents with a pool pass. For locations, hours, and instructions on how to obtain a season pass, click Swim facilities.

Covington operates more than two dozen neighborhood parks and playgrounds, including a dog park and a disc golf course, and a “mini pitch” soccer field associated with FC Cincinnati.

Members of the public can go online to reserve a shelter at about two dozen locations by clicking Reserve a Shelter.

Covington features miles of trails at three locations, including paved trails for biking and walking, nature trails, and trails that cater to off-road cyclists. For information, click Trails.

In addition to crafts and other activities at swim facilities, Parks & Rec organizes a wide variety of annual programming and activities, including: a fishing derby, an Easter Egg Roll, Astronomy night, Outdoor movies, a dog parade, youth basketball and soccer camps, pickleball, a Jack-O-Lantern festival, appearances by the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra and more.
