COVINGTON - NKY Restoration Weekend steering committee is seeking artists for their 3rd Annual NKY Restoration Weekend Poster Competition. After dynamic submissions in 2013 and 2014; the steering committee has not only agreed to hold the contest again, but also increase the cash prize to $350! The winning design will become the official visual icon for Northern Kentucky’s annual restoration fair and educational event used in posters, programs, online, in social media and all PR and marketing. Mark Kerley of Lucky Rabbit Studios created the winning design for the 2013 NKY Restoration Weekend poster contest and Andy Juengling for the winning design for 2014.
The historic fabric of Northern Kentucky is one of our region’s biggest assets. Connecting with artists to share how the craftsmanship and artistry of our historic structures speak to them is a great way to bridge old world and new perspectives as we do with the NKY Restoration Weekend.
In order to qualify, artists must be 18 years of age or over and live within a 75-mile radius of the host cities of Covington, Newport or Bellevue. Artists can use their favorite media(s) and must incorporate all the mandatory information found on the poster contest application. Artists are asked to convey the theme of historic architecture, historic building details, craftsmanship, building trades, riverfront landscapes or topics that celebrate the historic architecture, craftsmanship, and materials found in Northern Kentucky. Please submit entries as a 11”x17” vertical PDF and email to nkyrestoration@gmail.com by October 24, 2014 at 4:30. The winner will be announced on October 30, 2014
This year’s NKY Restoration Weekend will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 9 am to 5 pm at the Gateway Urban Campus located at 525 Scott Boulevard in Covington, KY.
