COVINGTON, KY - The following construction projects will result in road closures that may impact Covington residents:

Benton Drive

Benton Drive will be closed beginning Wednesday, May 27, to facilitate a basin project that Hale Contracting is constructing at the old ball field at Highland and Benton. This needs to be done in order to install the new pipe across Benton. The closure details are as follows:

May 27 - May 29:  Daytime closure only 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

June 1 - June 5:  Full closure 24 hours a day

While the roadway is closed, vehicles will be detoured through the Monte Casino neighborhood.

Wayman Branch Road

The City of Taylor Mill is moving forward with road improvements on Wayman Branch Road that will require the roadway to be closed to through traffic from June 15 – July 31. CT Consultants and Thelen have designed pier walls to help correct landslides in 5 locations along Wayman Branch. These slides are within the Taylor Mill City limits but the road closure and detour route will impact south Covington traffic.

Local access will be maintained by the construction contractor. Smith Construction will be performing the work and will be setting up detour signs in both directions for through traffic. The detour route is Taylor Mill Rd. to Hands Pike.
