COVINGTON, Ky. - Each year the City of Covington and the NKY HOME Consortium create an Annual Action Plan to outline how funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will be utilized.
Both Covington and the NKY HOME Consortium are HUD entitlement communities, and as such receive an annual allocation of funding from HUD in the form of Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership Program Funds (HOME).
This funding is a significant source of revenue for both the City of Covington and the HOME Consortium cities that is used to provide needed public services, housing, economic development, neighborhood improvements, and other critical needs of our low-income residents.
The number one goal of this plan is to be an informative and useful tool for the residents, organizations and businesses that are committed to Covington and Northern Kentucky’s continued growth. This plan will also demonstrate to HUD Covington’s plans to effectively and efficiently utilize the federal resources that are provided. It also includes data relative to the Northern Kentucky HOME Consortium member cities of Ludlow, Newport, Bellevue and Dayton. The City of Covington is the lead agency responsible for this plan.
A draft of the Annual Action Plan can be reviewed here and is open to public comments until April 8th. Any public input regarding the draft annual action plan can be sent to Jeremy Wallace, Community Development Manager at 20 West Pike Street, Covington, KY 41011, by fax at 859-292-2106 or by email at jwallace@covingtonky.gov.
