COVINGTON, KY – This is a joint statement from the Covington Board of Commissioners:

The Covington Board of Commissioners was recently made aware of the alleged improper use of government resources that may be the result of longstanding practices. We anticipate that a thorough investigation will bring these matters to light so that they can be addressed properly and expeditiously. Until the facts are brought to light, it is would not be prudent to assume the accuracy or inaccuracy of these allegations. We will not go into any detail regarding them at this time.

To this end, the Commission has identified outside counsel who can conduct this investigation with the diligence and independence necessary to determine the accuracy of the allegations and uphold the public trust.  The Commission has engaged the services of Scott White, a Lexington attorney.  He will proceed with a sense of urgency but will take the time to guarantee the investigation is thorough.
