The Covington Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to attain its accredited status with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). The assessment is to verify that the Covington Police Department is in compliance with professional law enforcement standards.
Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), a nonprofit organization based in Fairfax, Virginia, the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.
– Agency employees and the general public are invited to offer comments by calling (859)-292-2221 on Tuesday, July 18th, 2017 between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Comments will be taken by the on-site Assessment Team.
– Agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session Tuesday, July 18th, 2017 beginning at 6:00 PM. The session will be conducted at the Center for Great Neighborhoods of Covington 321 MLK Blvd//W. 12th Street Covington, KY 41011. Comments will be taken by the on-site Assessment Team.
All comments both by telephone and in person, comments are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA’s standards.
