COVINGTON, KY – The NKY Restoration Weekend steering committee seeks artists for the 2018 NKY Restoration Weekend Poster Competition.
The winning design will become the official visual icon for the 7th annual NKY Restoration Weekend educational and restoration event and will be featured on posters, programs, online, in social media and all PR and marketing. Additionally, the winning design artist will be awarded a cash prize of $350.
Artists are asked to convey the theme of historic architecture, historic building details, craftsmanship, building trades, Northern Kentucky landscapes or topics that celebrate the historic architecture, craftsmanship, and materials found in Northern Kentucky.
In order to qualify, artists must live within a 100-mile radius of the host cities of Dayton, Bellevue, Newport or Covington, Kentucky. Artists can use their favorite media(s) and must incorporate all the mandatory information found on the poster contest application. To view the poster contest application, click here.
Interested artists must submit entries as an 11”x17” vertical PDF and email to nkyrestoration@gmail.com by Tuesday, November 28 at 4:30 p.m. The winner will be announced on Friday, December 1, 2017.
The NKY Restoration Weekend will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Newport Intermediate School, 95 West 9th Street, Newport, KY. There will be a wide selection of educational programs, expert panels, vendor displays, and hands-on workshops.
On Friday, March 9, NKY Restoration Weekend will host continuing education classes for planners and architects.
NKY Restoration celebrates those who have made a committed investment to caring for Northern Kentucky’s historic buildings, whether they are property owner/developers, contractors, suppliers, architectural consultants, home owners, business owners or preservationists.
