COVINGTON, Ky. - The Covington Police Department has a new patrol officer, and he arrives with experience.
With family and co-workers watching, Cory Lane was sworn in this afternoon by Mayor Joe Meyer during a short ceremony in the Covington City Commission chambers.
Lane has served as an officer in Lexington for almost five years. He also is an executive officer in the Kentucky Army National Guard, where he has served for five years.
“We’re happy to have Cory join our team in Covington,” Covington Chief Rob Nader said.
Chief Nader said the addition of Lane brings Covington’s force to 109 men and women.
