Covington Mayor Joe Meyer swore in new Police Officer Alexandra Birkley in a short ceremony at City Hall today as Chief Rob Nader looked on.

COVINGTON, Ky. – The Covington Police Department gained a new officer today. 

Alexandra Birkley was sworn in this afternoon by Mayor Joe Meyer during a short ceremony in the Covington City Commission chambers. 

Covington Chief Rob Nader said Birkley will attend Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond, starting two weeks from today. She previously worked as a pretrial officer for Hamilton County Municipal Court. 

“She is from Northern Kentucky and has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from NKU, and we welcome her to our team,” Nader said. 

The addition of Birkley brings Covington’s force to 110 men and women.
