The Solid Waste and Recycling Supervisor must be dependable and able to work and organize daily priorities with minimal supervision. Ensure all day-to-day operational and collection activities, enforcement, customer service, events and programs of Solid Waste and Recycling Department are managed according to protocol, policy and Covington’s Code of Ordinances Chapter 95. This position will report directly to the Solid Waste and Recycling Coordinator and work directly with the Lead Solid Waste Seasonal. Responsibilities include but are not limited to recruiting, hiring and training seasonal staff, responds to and resolves citizen complaints timely, processing work orders and citations, project and event management, management of City Street trash can mapping, inventory and maintenance, oversee and schedule litter removal at predetermined routes and as needed, outreach and education regarding the waste management program with the community at large including property owners. Able to problem solve and take corrective actions to bring non-compliance issues back into compliance. Requires strong communication skills, as this position will be interacting with the residents, property owners, business owners, contractors, City employees and other governmental agencies on a daily basis.
