COVINGTON, Ky. - The parking garage at Fifth and Main streets in MainStrasse Village will be closed again tonight because of heavy ice.

 

The garage is part of the partially constructed RiverHaus Apartments complex, and developer Flaherty & Collins Properties had agreed last November to allow free parking on a temporary basis during evening hours after construction for the day was finished.

 

But the ice that formed when massive puddles from Saturday’s rain met Sunday’s frigid temperatures has not yet melted, and the developer decided that it wasn’t worth the risk to have people driving and walking in the garage, its local representative told the City today.
