COVINGTON, Ky. - Whether you’re nuts about high school sports, spending time with your significant other, or trying odd taste combinations, this is the weekend for you.
Glory Days, relived
Northern Kentuckians are just bonkers about high school sports, and that’s a fact. (EDITORS’ NOTE: Whether that’s 100 percent-always a good thing would be a voracious argument. ... But we digress.)
Behringer-Crawford Museum is tapping into that phenomenon with a new exhibit that opens Saturday: Northern Kentucky Sports Legends. It features a wide array of memorabilia from some of the 1,400 N. Ky. Sports Hall of Fame members, plus some festivities at the opening in the morning.
As The Boss sang, “I had a friend was a big baseball player ...”
With your love

Chick flick fans
If your partner has forced you to watch an endless stream of romantic comedies over the years of your relationship, then here is where the torture pays off: Rom-Com Movie Trivia on Friday night at Keystone Bar & Grill.
Yep, there’s no telling what names, quotes and facts have lodged in your brain, courtesy of all those sappy endings and predictable plots.
Cookies & craft beer
Take a tired old argument: What’s your favorite Girl Scout cookie? Add a newer, Covington-based debate: What’s your favorite Braxton Brewing creation? Now ... intertwine the discussion.
What you get is Sunday’s “Girl Scout Cookie and Beer Pairing at Braxton,” where for $10 you get a flight of four beers, a stack of four cookie flavors, and a tasting sheet. All you need is a willingness to explore and a semi-sophisticated palate. (Well, any old palate will do, actually.)
Oh, and you can buy cookies too. Info,
HERE.
Fairytales for free
Hotel Covington is offering a free, kid-friendly “BHM All Ages Movie Night” on Sunday with the showing of two fairytales: the 1997 version of “Cinderella” (Whitney Houston, Brandy, Whoopi Goldberg) and 1978’s ground-breaking “The Wiz” (Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Richard Pryor).
Show your kids what the hype was all about.
Band of Helping Hands
Check out an array of live music at the “We (Heart) the Arts” event on Saturday and help Latonia’s Band of Helping Hands raise money for its art and music programs for youth in the neighborhood.
Light Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, and music by Jeff Henry and the Necessary Evils, plus guests Noah Wotherspoon and Jessi Bair.
Year-round Farmers Market
Typical wares include seasonal produce, bread, pastries, desserts, meats and eggs, hot soups, prepared salads, cold-pressed juices, natural body products, unique spice blends and rubs and much more.
