John Purnell, supervisor of the Right of Way Division in Covington's Public Works Department, oversees the unloading of some of the City's 23½ tons worth of new street corner garbage receptacles.
COVINGTON, Ky. -- Covington’s street corners will get new trash receptacles in the coming weeks.
The City has begun receiving, in batches, the 235 receptacles it ordered from Wausau Tile of Wisconsin after a bidding process earlier this year. It’s storing the cans at the Public Works garage in Latonia until employees can begin installing them.
Weighing about 200 pounds each, they will replace most of the deteriorating concrete receptacles on street corners downtown and in neighborhood business districts.
