COVINGTON, Ky. - The Covington City Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 6:00 pm in the City Commission Chambers, 20 West Pike Street, Covington, Kentucky 41011. The purpose of this public hearing is to obtain the views of citizens, public agencies, representatives of adjacent units of general local government and other interested parties regarding the Annual Action Plan (Year 7 of the 7-year Strategic Plan) for the period July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020.
The Annual Action Plan details the actions to be undertaken during the next year to address the priority needs and objectives of the City of Covington and the Northern Kentucky HOME Consortium cities. The Annual Action Plan outlines the planned uses for the City’s CDBG and HOME funds which are provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The City anticipates receiving funding in the amounts of $1,460,136 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) entitlement funding and approximately $521,288 in Home Investment Partnerships (HOME) entitlement funding.
Proposals for the use of CDBG funds include: Public Improvements, Park Improvements, Housing Rehabilitation Programs, Crime Prevention Efforts, Recreation Programs/Early Literacy, Code Enforcement, and Economic Development Efforts.
Proposals for the use of HOME funds include: Homebuyer Assistance Programs, and Housing Development Programs.
