A quality pour at Old Kentucky Bourbon Bar
Cool spots, festival give City strong 'amber liquid cred'
COVINGTON, Ky. -- Covington may be located 68 miles from the birthplace of bourbon, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have legit amber liquid cred.
Six Covington bars and restaurants are official Sipping Points on The B-Line, this region’s bourbon-themed tour (created after the Kentucky Distillers’ Association anointed Northern Kentucky an official gateway to the world-famous Kentucky Bourbon Trail® adventures).
As chosen by The B-Line, Covington’s “official” sipping points (tho there are plenty of other places to get quality bourbon here):
- Bouquet Restaurant.
- Bourbon Haus 1841.
- Coppin’s at Hotel Covington.
- The Globe.
- Old Kentucky Bourbon Bar.
- Wiseguy Lounge.
In 2017, Bourbon Review named OKBB, Wiseguy and Bourbon Haus among the best 99 places in the country to get a pour.
Come October, the world will be watching #LoveTheCov when the first-ever Kentucky’s Edge bourbon conference and festival comes to town.
Meanwhile, here are some interesting bourbon facts, courtesy of the Lexington Herald-Leader (... and remember, as former Gov. Steve Beshear used to say, “95 percent of the world’s bourbon is made in Kentucky. Everything else is counterfeit.”):
