City creating resource for those needing services
COVINGTON, Ky. - The City of Covington is creating a list of Covington contractors and service businesses that can be used by other Covington businesses applying for City of Covington incentives or anyone who prefers to patronize their fellow Covington businesses.
If you want to be on that list, please fill out the form
HERE.
To be on the list, you must be qualified and properly licensed, have a Covington location and a City occupational license, and be in good standing with the City of Covington.
The category of “contractor and service businesses” is considered any business that provides a service of any nature to another business or individual (for a cost). This includes construction trades as well as others such as repair, IT, architecture, or any type of service that one business provides to another business or individual.
Some competitive City incentive programs award credit or “points” to applicants who commit to hiring Covington contractors to do the work.
“This started with adding extra points for using Covington contractors when we score our façade grant applications, but we see additional value for this as a business-to-business tool,” Economic Development Director Tom West said.
The contractors list will be available on the Economic Development Department’s webpage or by emailing the Department’s staff.
