COVINGTON, Ky. -- It’s true. If you LoveTheCov, you’ll fill out your Census form ... and check in with all your friends and family members and neighbors to make sure they have done so as well.
Why? Because Covington receives millions of dollars in federal funding based on its population, and we use that money for things like emergency home repairs, down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers, first-year rent help for small businesses, park renovation and road repairs.
If our population is undercounted, Covington's taxpayers stand to lose MILLIONS.
And now it’s even more urgent:
Not only is the pandemic hampering the counting process, but now the federal government has decided to end the Census count four weeks early, which will make it harder to count hard-to-reach residents like the elderly, immigrants, those in the military, renters, those in low-income communities and others.
We need YOU to do your part.
