COVINGTON, Ky. – Did you know that raindrops are actually just tears from angels crying over the death of Betty White?
At least that’s our theory.
We’re still in mourning over the death of the beloved actress Dec. 31, just 17 days shy of her 100th birthday.
If you are too, you’ll be interested in knowing that there are two (2!) events in Latonia this weekend honoring Ms. White, and you’re invited to both.
Of course, if your colors trend more orange and black, or even purple (how’s that for a hue-based segue?) then we’ve got you covered there too.
That’s because there’s trivia contest focused on the Cincinnati Bengals – dare we say it, the reigning AFC champions! – who are in the playoffs this weekend, and there’s a wine tasting tonight, and …
First, (and don’t dawdle because this is tonight), if you enjoy your grapes poured, head over to Crafts & Vines for the return of Tasting Thursday.
Good wines. Good pours. And two seatings are available for savvy wine-sippers – one at 6 p.m. and the other at 7:45 p.m. – and as of this posting, there were a few seats left. More HERE.
Local Studio 325 will help you channel Van Gogh and create your own version of “Starry Night.”
Just sign up and show up, ready to unleash that artist within on Friday with tutelage from local artist Jim Conroy.
All materials provided but don’t forget to bring your own wine or beer. Details HERE.
Prep for the orange-and-black’s (rare) appearance in the NFL playoffs on Sunday with “Cincinnati Bengals Trivia Night” at Keystone Bar & Grill on Friday (or FriDEY, as they’re calling it).
If you know your Willie Anderson from your Kenny Anderson, and your Isaac Curtis from your Ickey Shuffle, here’s your chance to let your knowledge of Cincinnati football history shine and maybe win a few prizes.
Toast the reigning AFC North champions with special drinks, The Griddy, Joe-to-Marr-g, and more. Info HERE.
Betty White was a Capricorn (which explains so much about her magnificence).
In her honor, the good folks at Pandemonium in Latonia want you to join them Saturday morning – just two days before what would have been her 100th birthday – for their “Golden Girls”-themed menu. Stop in for a bite, a sip, and the chance to catch every episode of the “Golden Girls” … because it will be on a loop on their tube. Details HERE.
Likewise, fans of the actress (who was also an author/comedienne/animal rights activist) will take over The Roost Latonia on Sunday.
The Roost Latonia will celebrate the “sweet and sassy” White with the “Betty White Bash,” featuring appropriately-themed lattes, vintage, and retail.
Betty brews begin pouring at 7 a.m. Details HERE.
Head over The Village Theater in MainStrasse Village on Sunday for a day of music and raising money for families in Mayfield, Ky., who were devastated by the tornadoes last month.
