BLINK, moon fest & block party

COVINGTON, Ky. – Get out there and enjoy the glow this weekend (and we’re not just talking about the light from that beautiful Full Moon).

BLINK returns for an unforgettable four-day regional outdoor art experience, so be prepared to find all range of spectacular illumination throughout The Cov.

As if a massive light and art event isn’t enough, there are plenty of other cool things happening this weekend too, like a Halloween Block Party, a “diabolically” cool costume party, a Full Moon Fest, a celebration of artists, a “worst” toy show, a henna party, loads of great live music, and more.

Cue the lights

BLINK, the nation’s largest public light and art event starts tonight, bringing together a collection of creatives, entrepreneurs, local artists, art enthusiasts, supporters, and you, for an unforgettable art experience.

Now in its fourth year, BLINK is a really big deal, attracting more than 2 million people to the region to stroll city blocks on both side of the river. There are more than 80 cool light, mural, and projection projects, and a lot of that cool stuff plays out in The Cov.

Be sure to be mindful of the road closures, so that you’re not in a white-knuckled fit of fury behind the wheel. Better yet, take advantage of available free transit, so you Don’t BLINK and Drive.

Navigate your way through all the illuminated coolness with this handy BLINK Experience Map. Check out what Clive The Alien is up to, the Mystic Eye Drone Show, the Covington Beacon of Light, the Vanishing Portrait, and so much more.

What’s brewing for BLINK?

Braxton Brewing Company is taking the BLINK experience to the next level tonight, with a traveling Disco Arcade installation that’s a veritable portal through time.

BLINK at Braxton Brewing will feature live music all weekend long, a limited edition Radiant Hibiscus Fruited Kettle Sour, and is a great place to watch the BLINK drone show (the rooftop Glow Garden offers a mighty fine view).

Big fun beneath a big moon

Tonight, Creative House of Art & Design invites you to step into a world of mystical wonders in celebration of the lunar cycle with an evening of magic and mystique at its Full Moon Fest.

Uncover the path before you with $5 tarot readings, show your hand for a palm reading, and discover the Secret Bar where mixologists craft tantalizing libations inspired by the placement of the Full Moon. It’s sure to be night of divine connection and celestial celebration.

A diabolically good time

On Friday, the UpOver Diabolically Deabaucherous Halloween costume party is back with what will be the most ghoulish and mischievous night with music, costumes (of course), hot buttered rum, painting, poetry, juggling, and The Midnight Show on the DownUnder patio.

First and second place trophies for the best costume. (The oddest costume wins the oddest prize.)

Party in Latonia

Count on a whole lot of family-friendly fun at the Latonia Halloween Block Party on Saturday at Ritte’s Corner.

There’s going to be a costume contest, carriage rides, trick-or-treat, food and refreshments, games, and live music.

Where elegance meets art

Purple Paisley, Local Artisan Shop is hosting a special open house on Saturday where you can meet and mingle with many of the talented local artists whose work is featured in the shop.

The Art & Elegance: October 2024 Featured Artists Celebration will present a curated collection of works by watercolorist Juanita Mills, visionary fiber artist Dolores Fegan, enamel jewelry artist Lydia Morrison, pastel artist Deborah Thornberry, and acrylic abstract landscape artist Ruth Wyman.

Light refreshments and snacks available while you chat with the artists.
