COVINGTON, Ky. – On Tuesday, the Covington Board of Commissioners promoted Sergeant Aaron Ashley to the rank of Lieutenant and Specialist Kody Crank to the rank of Sergeant.
“These officers are an integral part of our Covington community, and I am thankful for their service,” said Mayor Ron Washington. “We should all be proud of their dedication and professionalism."
Ashley joined the Covington Police Department in 2018, after serving as an officer with the Ashland, Ky Police Department for three years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Morehead State University and is a graduate of the Department of Criminal Justice Training’s Academy of Police Supervision. His assignments include Second Shift Sergeant and SWAT Team Squad Leader, and prior assignments as Field Officer Training and Bike Officer.
Crank joined Covington PD in 2017. He holds two bachelor’s degrees, one in Criminal Justice and one in Psychology from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, and a master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati. Crank’s assignments include Patrol and SWAT Team.
